Set like a gem in the old medieval walls of Albenga, the Sommariva Oil Mill is a required visit for all lovers of real quality seekers. Since over 100 years the Oil Mill has been producing the Extra Virgin Olive Oil “mosto” obtained by cold grinding and all the other specialities of the old Ligurian cooking: Genoa Pesto, Cream of Olives, Nut Sauce, small Artichokes from Albenga in oil, Taggiasche Olives in brine and many more excellent delicacies.
Domenico Sommariva called “Nino” has been the author and the founder of the Antico Frantoio Sommariva, he has devoted his entire life to with great strength and personality. Born 21st January 1928 in Albenga, he started his life in the world of oil towards the mid 50s been partnered with his uncle in the management of the oil mill. In 1958 he took over starting the story of his own firm, unaware of the prestige that it would have had in the course of the years
