Overlooking on the old medieval road to Greve, the Villa of Calcinaia owes its present look to the Capponi family, who bought it in 1524. The estate is located in the very heart of the Chianti region, 2 Km from Greve, 21 Km from Florence and 50 Km from Siena. At present the Villa is situated at the end of a cypress-lined drive and surrounded by 150 hectares of land, which include woods, vineyards and olive-groves. In the cellars of the Villa an excellent Chianti Classico is produced, as well as olive oil , vin santo and grappa. From the Italian style garden one can admire the delightful Tuscan landscape and the old farm houses belonging to the estate, some of which have been converted in comfortable agriturist residences. |

Product Name: Casarsa I.G.T. is a pure Merlot, picked from the Prato and Querce vineyards, dwelled without a break for sixteen months in barriques of 225 liters. The terrain of Chianti and the land of the estate in particular are reflected in an appreciable manner also in the sensorial essence of the Merlot which is distinctive, as well for the strength and freshness of aroma, balance and elegance of taste and general harmony of the wine.

Product Name: Conti Capponi Chianti Classico and Chianti Classico Riserva, are wines, already naturally limpid, which have undergone a minimal mild filtering of its components which are already harmonized in a masterly way. The wines, therefore, have a beautiful quality of color, an intense and fruity bouquet, a full and harmonious body.
